Effects of copper and bismuth on the structure and electrochemical properties of Pb-Ca-Sn alloys

2009
The effects of copper and bismuth on the properties of Pb base alloys with a minor addition of Ca and Sn were investigated. The electrochemical property of the alloys with different copper and bismuth contents was tested, and the microstructure of them characterized, which showed that bismuth in the Pb-Ca-Sn alloys could decrease both the over-potentials for the oxygen evolution reaction and the corrosion resistance of the alloys, whereas copper addition deteriorated the corrosion resistance.
