Based on Super-Pixels to Simulate Water Ripples from a Single Image

2019
Animating the ripples in single image is a challenging topic in computer animation, because there are non-enough structural information of water surface in single image. In this paper, we propose an image animating model to generate virtual ripples in single image with light intensity and depth information. The shallow water function is used to generating the initial amplitude map of virtual ripples. Observing that the change of light intensity among different regions in the ripple. We employ an super-pixels method to calculating the depth map of the single image. Combining the depth map and local light intensity, we optimize the initial amplitude to generate more real ripples. To demonstrate the validity of virtual ripples simulating method, our model generates several animations form single images that are driving by different number of assuming raindrops.
