Assessing Impacts of Traffic Flows on the Spatial Distribution of Early Dengue in Guangzhou Subdistricts

2019
Human movement accelerates the transmission of dengue, and the preference of traffic modes are of great importance in the spreading process. Therefore, we have assessed the effects of three traffic flows (subway, taxi, and person) on the spatial distribution of early dengue cases in Guangzhou subdistricts. To compare, we adjusted to construct a local index of Risk Caused by Passengers and Distance (RCPD) and evaluated the correlation between RCPD and numbers of cases. The most significant one is taxi flow (0.422). The results of this study help better to understand various traffic flows’ effects on epidemiology, which could help take more effective and timelier control measures for future outbreaks.
