Forming of magnesium malloys for aeronautical application

The Institute of Metal Forming and Metal-Forming Machines (IFUM) of the Leibniz Universitat Hannover is project partner in the MagForming project which is funded by the EU within the 6th framework programme. In this project processes for manufacturing of magnesium parts for the aviation industry are developed. Twelve project partners with fields of expertise in forming technologies, aeronautics, material research and manufacturing technologies cooperate. The IFUM participates in the area of small and medium scale forging parts as well as deep drawing and super-plastic forming (SPF) parts.
