Real-time locus indication system for a flying golf ball

We have developed a real time locus indication system for a golf ball in flight. The system, named Shot View, calculatcs the three-dimensional position of the ball by triangulation. It uses the motion angles of two cameras to track the ball and indicates the locus on a course layout background. Experiments were conducted to ascertain its applicability to golf, and the system has now been applied to long drives at distant holes in several golf broadcasts.
