On the Decoupling Robustness of Distributed Magnetic Traps in Biological Loaded Dual Tuned MR coils

2019
The robustness of Distributed Magnetic Traps (DMTs) for Magnetic Resonance (MR) coils decoupling in the presence of a biological load is analyzed with numerical analysis. A DMT realized as printed spiral resonators (SRs) has been already presented by the authors along with an accurate equivalent circuit which predicts their resonance frequencies, achieving an excellent agreement with simulations. Here, SRs’ peculiar decoupling effect at the desired Larmor’s frequency has been numerically analyzed in presence of a phantom mimicking biological tissue properties.
