Structural correlation of networks formed by branching dendrites and multilevel marketing recruitment process

2012
We explore the correlation between networks formed by the branching process of biological dendrites and the recruitment process of a multilevel marketing (MLM) enterprise. We utilized an existing dendritic network model based from a greedy algorithm that starts by positioning points at random locations inside a circular substrate. A network is created from these points by minimizing a distance cost function controlled by a param- eter bf (balancing factor) that balances the wiring cost and path length cost of connection. We use the Linfoot’s criteria to statistically validate the correlation between the networks formed by these two processes and show that they are structurally similar. Our results provide an insight that dendritic growth mechanisms may accurately model the recruitment process of an MLM enterprise.
