Electron dislocation drag in thin metal samples

1993
Abstract We present both theoretical and experimental results for the Iow temperature electron dislocation drag in thin metal plates and wires. It is shown that because of the periodic character of electron motion in plates and wires the collision mechanism of energy absorption dominates unlike the collisionless one in a bulk sample. Theoretical calculations and experimental results demonstrate a stronger size effect in wires than in plates.
