Measurement of the First Hyperpolarizability of Rare Earth Compounds by Hyper-Rayleigh Scattering in Solution

The first hyperpolarizabilities β zzz  of a hemicyanine chromophore dye and a new type chromophore, both containing rare earth complex anion, have been measured by Hyper Rayleigh scattering in solution. The results showed that the nonlinear optical properties of these compounds have been improved by introducing the rare earth complex anion.
