Analysis of Pulse Width for Modulated LIDAR Underwater Detection

2012
The purpose of the study is to research influence of pulse width for underwater target detection. A series of pulse widths are used to calculate target contrasts which decide the target reflection signal to backscattering noise ratio. As a result, we find that target contrast, which equals about 0.333, is the best when pulse width is about 5 nanoseconds.
