Review on the Coordinated Voltage Control Methods in Distribution Networks

2021
The increasing penetration of distributed generation (DG), electrical vehicles (EV), and flexible loads have led to many voltage issues in the active distribution networks (ADN), such as voltage fluctuations, overvoltage, voltage drop, harmonics, voltage unbalance, etc. The existing literature has presented and implemented various voltage control methods to address these challenges. This paper investigated and summarized the state-of-art of voltage coordination control from the aspects of time-level, components, objectives, areas, control schemes, and the algorithms/models. Finally, we present the conclusive comments and suggest future work for voltage coordination control in the ADN.
