Challenges and Security Issues in Underwater Wireless Sensor Networks.

Abstract With the advances in technology, there has been an increasing interest from researches and industrial institutions in the use of Underwater Wireless Sensor Networks (UWSNs). Constrained by the open acoustic channel, harsh underwater environment and the particularities of itself, UWSNs are vulnerable to a wide class of security threats and malicious attacks. A survey on threats, challenges and security issues of UWSNs are presented in this paper. In addition, current security researches and mechanisms are presented and discussed.
