Untersuchungen zum Einsatz eines Nephelinsyenit aus der Türkei als keramischer Rohstoff

1998
A turkish nepheline-syenite from the Kirsehir area (about 150 km southeast of Ankara), which exists in large amounts near to the surface, is introduced. After the first preparation attempts using magnetic separation, a product can be mined with a yield of over 85 %, which is of great interest for use in ceramic bodies. Based on the high alkali amount of about 15 % with noticeably large amounts of potassium of about 12 % a good softening and melting behaviour of the melting specimens with light colouring can be seen in comparison to the feldspars used previously. There are already possible applications in tiles and sanitaryware ceramic bodies.
