COMPARATIVE STUDY OF THE DYNAMIC PROPERTIES OF NATURAL RUBBER BASED COMPOSITES, CONTAINING CARBON-SILICA DUAL PHASE FILLERS OBTAINED BY DIFFERENT METHODS

2015
In the present paper a comparison of the vulcanization characteristics and dynamic properties of natural rubber based composites, reinforced by two different carbon-silica dual phase fillers (obtained by two different methods: impregnation and pyrolysis-cum-water vapor of waste “green” tyres), has been made. It has been found that the percentage of silica in the carbon-silica dual phase fillers does not affect substantially the vulcanization characteristics of the rubber compounds studied, both in the presence or absence of a silane coupling agent. In all cases the dynamic properties of the composites, containing a pyrolysed carbon-silica filler in the presence of TESPD, are better than those of the composites with an impregnation filler. The experimental results show that, after precising of the conditions and initial raw materials, both methods would be suitable for obtaining carbon-silica dual phase fillers, for use in the rubber industry .
