Effects of Temperatures on Laboratory Population of Aphis citricola Van der Goot (Homoptera: Aphididae)
2008
The developmental threshold temperature, effective accumulated temperature and laboratory population parameters were determined for Aphis citricola Van der Goot under the different constant temperatures of 13,15,17℃,19,23,26,28℃and RH70 %±10 %.At the temperatures ranged from 13℃ to 28℃,the developmental durations of variousinstars stages of Aphis citricola were short ened as temperatures rose. The highest net reproductive rate of Aphis citricolawas found at 17℃ (r0=8.23).The maxintrinsic growth rate was 0.09 and the shortest doubling time for population was 8.09 d at 19℃.As a result, the optimum temperature for nymphal development was fixed approximately at 19℃.Higher or lower temperatures were unfavorable for the survival of this insect.Laboratory population parameters of Aphis citricolawere declined sharply at 28℃.They could not survive at 13℃.
