Research on the Difference of Economic Traits between Xinjiang Goats and Qinggeli Cashmere Goats

2013
[Objective]The main purpose of the study is to analyze the difference of the three economic traits(cashmere fineness, length and yield) between Qinggeli Cashmere Goats and Xinjiang Goats and further elucidate breed dominance of each breed in order to provide theoretical basis for cashmere goat breeding work. [Method]In this experiment,150 Qinggeli Cashmere Goats and 150 Xinjiang Goats were randomly selected, their traits including cashmere fineness, length and yield, and the correlation between these traits were analyzed.[Result]Cashmere fineness, length and yield of Qinggeli Cashmere Goat and Xinjiang Goat were 16.00μm,15.4μm,40.82 cm,36.72 cm,356.6 g,304.07 g respectively; As for the yield,Qinegeli cashmere goats were significantly higher than that of Xinjiang goats(P 0.01 ),and as for the cashmere length,Qinegeli Cashmere Goats were extremely higher than that of Xinjiang Goats(P 0.05).As for the cashmere fineness there were no significant difference between the two breeds(P 0.05).There was positive correlation between cashmere yield, fineness and length for the two breeds(P 0.05).[Conclusion] Qinggeli Cashmere Goats had better performance than Xinjiang Goats, and the value of the former was generally higher than that of Xinjiang Goats.Correlation of cashmere fineness, length and yield of the two breeds could be used for anticipation of Cashmere Goats' economic value.
