INTRODUCTION The National Renewable Energy Laboratory, in collaboration with its industrial and academic partners, is engaged in a project with the goal of developing and facilitating the commercialization of safe, cost-effective, and environmentally benign technologies for the production of transportation fuels from biomass via thermal gasification.
