O USO AGRÍCOLA DA TERRA NA COMUNIDADE DO BROCA, MUNICÍPIO DE SANTA LUZIA DO PARÁ, NORDESTE PARAENSE, AMAZÔNIA ORIENTAL

2019
This research aimed to carry out a socioeconomic and environmental survey concerning the agricultural use of land in family farming establishments in the community of Broca, in the municipality of Santa Luzia do Para-PA, aiming to collaborate in the construction of new forms of understanding of the agricultural and Amazon. To do so, we used the home-based research approach of the interviewees, with the application of forty-four questionnaires, structured with sixty-four questions. The results show that the land is cultivated by the small landowners, whose labor is essentially the family unit, where the main sources of income are the products derived from manioc (Manihot esculenta Crantz), cowpea (Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp.) of maize (Zea mays spp.), and social programs such as the family grant and rural retirement. Some 93,02% of the producers claim that they do not have access to technical assistance and agricultural inputs that allow a greater development of agriculture, resulting in the use of manual methods for the implantation of the crop, called as cutting and burning.
