Selecting variables for small area classifications of 1991 United Kingdom census data.

The authors describe a new classification system for small area census data and apply it to data from the 1991 census of the United Kingdom in order to classify the smallest areas in Britain for which the census data are available. The purpose of the exercise is to provide "a census data representative small area classification of Britains residential areas." (ANNOTATION)
