Proline and glycine-betaine (GB) are the two most important organic osmolytes that hoard in a variety of plant species in response to environmental stresses such as extreme temperatures, drought, salinity, UV radiation and heavy metals. The fifteen cultivars of wheat which are commonly used in Pakistan were subjected to four salt treatments (0 EC, 2 EC, 8 EC, 16 EC) for four weeks and the contents of proline and glycine-betaine were estimated in order to find out the
