Influence of Phasor Measurement Error on Parameter Identification for a Synchronous Generator

2018
AbstractIn this article, a method is presented to analyze the influence of phasor measurement errors on the parameter identification of synchronous generators. The equations describing the relationship between parameter deviation and phasor error are derived as based on the six-order model of a synchronous generator and the step-identification algorithm. Because parameter precision is important for the simulation and security operation of the power system, measurement errors, including those of current and voltage magnitudes and phase angles, are discussed to determine their influence on the identified parameters. In addition, through implementation of a practical example, the values of parameter errors directly resulting from phasor measurement errors are calculated via equations, and a simulation method is used to validate the effectiveness of the proposed equations. The results indicate that this method can be applied to identify any synchronous generator parameter, in addition to functioning as a refe...
