Gut Access for Nutritional Provision

Early nutrition in ill patients is shown to improve outcomes. Elderly patients often have slower recovery and may present malnourished. The optimal route of feeding administration is via the GI tract. In this chapter, we will discuss several methods to achieve feeding access, including surgical and endoscopic feeding tubes.
