Performance Analysis of Joint Radar and Communication Enabled Vehicular Ad Hoc Network

2019
In this paper, we apply stochastic geometry to analyze the cooperative detection range of joint radar and communication (JRC) system. The total available spectrum is shared by radar and communication subsystems and the band width is alterable according to the performance requirements of radar detection. Furthermore, the spectrum allocation rate of communication band to total band and the density of vehicles have impact on both probability of successful communication and cooperative detection range. Optimal values of these two parameters are obtained numerically to expend the cooperative detection range of radars. Finally, a Monte-Carlo simulation is presented to verify the analysis.
