Development of a New Stress-Deformation Measuring Device and Hazard Early Warning System for Constructional Work in Da Nang, Vietnam

The paper presents the process of creating and evaluating the workability of new measuring devices for the health monitoring of infrastructure projects in Da Nang city by using special sensors, including deformation and cracks observers, tentatively named TUD-v1. All the devices are connected and managed via the Web Server in order to provide a real-time data to users. Through the laboratory checks and test-bed, the results confirmed that the observers and the management system works quite effectively and accurately. Additionally, with the reasonable cost, the new early warning system using Internet of Things (IoTs) in this study can be feasibly applied for various smart construction projects with a better performance but cheaper construction cost.
