Procesos Psicológicos de la Migración: Aculturación, Estrés y Resiliencia

2018
Some of the elements highlighted by the psychological literature addressing the migration processes are considered, in order to deepen the study of this subject. The work examines acculturation constructs and acculturative stress as they are elements that are present in the process of adaptation of the migrant. The work also refers to resilience because it is one of the positive strategies that immigrants assume when dealing with the adversities of being in a new society. Although these are significant elements, there is an absence of joint studies dedicated to these issues. The work ends with a proposal to study the migrant couple, particularly because the migratory process produce new configurations that entail adjustment problems, and whose realities are unknown. Studying these variables can establish characteristics of Latin American migration to contribute to the construction of a social coexistence from diversity.
