On Certainty and Metaphysical Doubt

This chapter offers a first discussion of a distinctive part of Wittgenstein’s post-Tractarian philosophy that may involve an element of transcendentalism. This element is not a matter of transcendental arguments, but one concerning the special status of things that stand fast for us.
