Study on the Corona Discharge Ionized Field of UHVdc Based on Particle-in-Cell Iterative Method

In this paper, an accurate time-domain model was established to calculate the ion-flow field of ultrahigh-voltage direct current transmission line. First, the influence of corona layer thickness is considered in the model. Second, the ionic-flow field is calculated without using the traditional fluid model in which the mobility is set as a constant but based on the particle-in-cell iterative method, and the migration of charged particles is analyzed which considering different forces in motion. Therefore, the nonlinear migration of the electric charge can be considered by this calculation process, making the model closer to the actual situation. Third, coaxial cylinder model is used to verify this method. Finally, corresponding calculation results of −1100 kV transmission line were obtained by this method, and the impact of wind speed is also studied in this paper.
