Binuclear copper(I) complexes containing bis(diphenylphosphino)methane bridging ligands. X-ray crystal structure of [Cu2(dppm)2(Py)2(NO3)](NO3) · CH3OH

1997
Abstract Binuclear copper(I) complexes [Cu(dppm)(phen)] 2 (NO 3 ) 2 ( 1 ), dppm = Ph 2 PCH 2 PPh 2 , [Cu(dppm)(2,2′-bipy)] 2 (NO 3 ) 2 (2), [Cu 2 (dppm) 2 (C 7 H 5 O 4 N)](NO 3 ) 2 (3), C 7 H 5 O 4 N = pyridine-2,6-dicar☐ylic acid, [Cu 2 (dppm) 2 (Py) 2 (NO 3 )](NO 3 )CH 3 OH(4), Py = pyridine have been synthesized by ligand reduction of cupric nitrate with dppm and characterized by specific elemental analyses, molecular weight determination, t.g., and 31 PNMR; their electronic conductivities and c.v. waves have also been measured. The X-ray crystal structure of complex ( 4 ) shows that dppm coordinates as a bridging bidentate ligand to the Cu 1 atoms, and NO 3 behaves as a bidentate ligand or free ion in these new binuclear copper I complexes.
