The genus Chenopodium L. in Saudi Arabia

The genus Chenopodium L. is revised from Saudi Arabia. In all, 16 species, belonging to sections Ambrina, Orthosporum, Botryoides, Chenopodium and Leprophyllum, are reported; six of these species (C. acerifolium, C. atrovirens, C. fasciculosum, C. giganteum, C. quinoa and C. pratericola), have not previously been recorded in Saudi Arabia. A key for identification, and descriptions are given; the distribution for all taxa with distribution maps and variability of the species are discussed. Die Gattung Chenopodium wird fur Saudi Arabien einer Revision unterzogen. Insgesamt werden 16 Arten aus den Sektionen Ambrina, Orthosporum, Botryoides, Chenopodium und Leprophyllum betrachtet. Von diesen sind sechs Arten (C. acerifolium, C. atrovirens, C. fasciculosum, C. giganteteum, C. quinoa und C. pratericola) bisher nicht aus Saudi Arabien genannt worden. Ein Bestimmungsschlussel und Beschreibungen werden gegeben. Das Vorkommen aller Arten wird an Hand von Verbreitungskarten dargestellt, und die Variabilitat jeder Art wird diskutiert.
