Normal Reproductive Performance of Mature Cockerels Fed Aroclor 1248

1974
Abstract Aroclor 1248 fed at the 10 and 20 p.p.m. levels in the diet of caged Leghorn cockerels for an 8-week period exerted no effects on body weight gains, feed intake, semen characteristics (volume, packed sperm volume, sperm metabolism), fertility and hatchability of fertile eggs laid by control and Aroclor 1248-fed females. At the termination of the study, liver weights were significantly increased by 10 and 20 p.p.m. Aroclor 1248, while the heart weights were significantly decreased by 20 p.p.m. of Aroclor 1248.
