Comparison of DLA and RLA Silica-Based Aerogel Structure Modelling Methods

Abstract In the present work, diffusion-limited aggregation and reaction-limited aggregation structure generation methods have been analyzed. These methods are perspective in modelling and visualization of aerogel nanoporous materials. The calculation algorithms using DLA and modified RLA have been developed and implemented in C# language within the MS Visual Studio environment. Comparison of DLA and RLA methods has revealed that both methods have the same precision but RLA allows modelling of gelation process by adjustment of specific surface area.
