Spin-correlation in La1.82Sr0.18Cu1−yMyO4 (M Ga, Zn, Ni, Co)

Abstract The effects of the substitution with 3d metals and sp metals on spin-correlation in La 1.82 Sr 0.18 Cu 1− y M y O 4 (M Ga, Zn, Ni, Co) have been studied by the measurement of magnetic susceptibility. We observed that Cu-site substitution brought about a change in T max (the temperature exhibiting a susceptability peak). We clarified a possibility that Cu-site substitution can effect the antiferromagnetic state at around T max . By subtracting the effect of hole reduction due to the substitution, we obtained the result suggesting the possibility that the Zn ion and the Ga ion have the same effect on T max , which is quite contrasted to the effects of the Co ion or the Ni ion.
