Electrical resistivity of (Pd1−xAgx).99Fe.01

2008
Measurements of the temperature dependence of the resistivity, ρ (T), have been made for the alloy system Pd1−xAgx containing 1 at.% Fe with x=0.025, 0.10, 0.25, 0.33, and 0.40 and 0.50. Temperature dependences of the low field susceptibility, χ (T), have shown that alloys with 0?×?0.25 are ferromagnetic and that alloys with x?0.33 have sharp susceptibility peak thought to be characteristic of spin glass type ordering.1 The Pd1−xAgx matrix resistivity increases with silver concentration up to about x=0.40 and then decreases.2,3 In the composition range 0?×?0.25 addition of 1 at.% Fe increases the resistivity between 3 and 5μΩcm. This is 3 to 4 times the resistivity increase per cent Ag in the same composition range. P(T) for Pd1−xAgx has been found to approach ρ (0) with positive or negative T2 dependences depending on concentration. The negative slopes occur for alloys with x=0.19, 0.33 and 0.50.3 No negative slopes were observed in ρ (T) for (Pd1−xAgx).99Fe.01 alloys. In (Pd1−xAgx).99Fe.01 with x?0.33, ...
