Genetic toxicity of rhodioside injection

2009
Objective:To evaluate the genetic toxicity of rhodioside injection. Methods: Ames test, chromosomal aberration test of CHO cells and mouse marrow micronucleus assay were used to investigate the genetic toxicity of rhodioside injection. Results: Various dosages(5 000,500,50,5.0,0.5 μg/disc) of rhodioside injection showed no mutagenic effect on Salmonella typhimurium in the Ames test. After CHO cells exposed to the dosages of 2 000,1 000 and 500 μg/mL of rhodioside injection with or without rat liver supernatant 9(S9),no chromosomal aberration effect was observed. Results of in vivo mouse bone marrow micronucleus test showed that rhodioside injection did not have inductive effect on formation of polychromatic erythrocyte micronucleus under the dosage of 1 500,750 and 375 μg/kg.Conclusion: These results indicate that rhodioside injection has no genetic toxicity based on the Ames test,CHO chromosomal aberration test and micronucleus assay.
