Solid-state processes to produce hemispherical components for inertial fusion targets

1980
The designs proposed for next‐generation targets and components for inertial fusion (IF) involve complex multilayer, multishell configurations. Solid‐state process technology offers a wide assortment of fabrication techniques useful in the realization of such structures. This paper presents several such processes which are capable of producing freestanding hemishells of a variety of materials.
