Magnetic properties of Cr, Mo, and W‐modified Mn3B4
1983
Magnetic properties of Cr, Mo, and W‐modified Mn3B4 were examined, and it was found that the ferromagnetic moment of (Mn1−xMx)3B4 (M=Cr, Mo, W) increased with increasing x (0≤x≤0.1), but the value of the effective Bohr magneton μeff was almost constant for the present compositional range studied and μeff was independent of the kind of substituted elements. This result suggests that ferromagnetism of the present solid solutions is due to canting of the antiferromagnetic sublattice of Mn 2(c) atoms of Mn3B4.
