Auxiliary Signal Design forRobustFailure Detection: A CaseStudy

Recently anapproach formulti-model identifica- tionandfailure detection inthepresence ofmodeluncer- tainty andboundedenergynoise overfinite timeintervals wasintroduced. Thisapproach involved offline computation ofanauxiliary signal andonline application ofthedetection andidentification test. Software hasbeendeveloped tocarry outthis approach. Thispaperprovides thefirst careful case study investigating a numberofissues related touseofthis software. Guidelines forusers andsuggestions forimprovement arepresented.
