Using Human Heartbeat as a Biometric Using Arduino's Simple Implementation for Further Application

2019
This research investigated the possibility of using the human heartbeat rate as a biometric for human identification using simple tools. The most significant advantage of using heart rate as biometric identification is that the rate of the heartbeat cannot be easy to simulate and replicated compared relatively to other conventional biometrics, such as fingerprints or iris. The approach taken in this study is to conduct experiments to compare human heartbeat rate patterns using a simple electrocardiogram with the implementation of Arduino as the tool. The result obtained from this research must be able to show that the human heart rate pattern is different from each other and has a unique shape in each individual to meet the requirements to be used as biometric identification. The result obtained from this research is expected to be used as a basis for further research on the application of heart rate as biometric identification if the result is adequate.
