A Unified Theory of Net Synthesis

Since the purpose of net synthesis is to construct a finite net system we shall consider a fixed finite set \( E = \left\{ {e_1, \ldots e_n } \right\} \) of events even though all the results presented in this chapter extend without modifications to the case where E is an infinite set.
