An Empirical Study on the Teaching Effect of Blended Learning Mode in Financial Econometrics Course Based on Logit Model

2021
The course of Financial Econometrics is the core curriculum for finance majors, which is heavy expending in course contents and difficult for students to comprehend, so there is room for further improvement of the teaching effect. Thus, it is necessary to reform the traditional teaching mode in this specific course. In this paper, it explores how the blended-learning method has carried out in the course of Financial Econometrics, based on the questionnaire survey data and logit model, with the conclusions as follows. Firstly, knowledge shortage of financial and statistic theory as well as computer programming skills is a common-seen problems among students in this course. In this case, the blended-learning can significantly improve the teaching effect. Secondly, this course involves a lot of mathematical models and blended-learning can effectively improve students’ learning effect on the models. Therefore, the blended-learning method should be promoted in the teaching process of financial courses with mathematical requirements. Basic theories and concept of the course should be studied in the form of online courses, while flipped classroom method and face-to-face discussion should be used offline to improve students’ learning autonomy and interest as well as ability to operate measurement software.
