Performance of a new 1MV AMS facility (AURiS) at PRL, Ahmedabad, India

Abstract A 1 MV Accelerator Mass Spectrometer (AMS) has been installed at Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), Ahmedabad, India which is tuned for measurement of 14 C, 10 Be and 26 Al and is fully operational. The facility is acronymed as PRL-AURiS (PRL-Accelerator Unit for Radioisotope Studies). Measurements on various reference materials, have demonstrated its ability to achieve precision for 14 C, 10 Be and 26 Al to 2.2, 4.8 and 5.3‰ levels, with background values of 3.9 × 10 −16 , 5.8 × 10 −16 and 1.6 × 10 −14 respectively.
