Investigation of flexural properties of fabricated hybrid fibres reinforced composites

2021
The present work involves the fabrication of hybrid Fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) composites and investigation of the change in their flexural strength concerning the stacking sequence and fibre. The hybrid FRPs consists of bidirectional woven basalt, Kevlar, E-glass and carbon fibres, fabricated as per ASTM D790 standards using hand lay- up method. The fabricated hybrid composites have been tested under three point-loading and different evaluations been made. It has been observed that specimen having basalt at the skin, followed by accumulative stacking of carbon and glass laminates gives better flexural strength as compares to another fabricated specimen.
