The invention discloses a thin hot-rolled sheet steel for direct thermal forming and a manufacturing method of the thin hot-rolled sheet steel. The sheet steel is prepared from the following chemical components in percentage by weight: 0.12 to 0.50 percent of C, 0.15 to 0.65 percent of Si, 0.70 to 2.0 percent of Mn, less than or equal to 0.015 percent of P, less than or equal to 0.008 percent of S, 0.015 to 0.06 percent of Als, less than or equal to 0.005 percent of N, less than or equal to 0.005 percent of B, 0.15 to 0.65 percent of Cr, 0.005 to 0.060 percent of Nb, or 0.005 to 0.06 percent of Ti, or 0.005 to 0.06 percent of V, or less than or equal to 0.10 percent of a mixture consisting of two or three of Nb, Ti and V according to any ratio, and the balance of iron and unavoidable impurities. According to the thin hot-rolled sheet steel for direct thermal forming and the manufacturing method of the thin hot-rolled sheet steel, the manufacturing process of thermally formed steel is shortened, the problem that the conventional thermally formed steel manufacturing process is long and complicated is solved, and the mechanical property of finally obtained thermally formed steel is high; and according to the manufacturing method, the pickling procedure is canceled, so that the production efficiency is improved, the production cost is reduced, and pollution of pickling to the environment is also avoided.
