Improved Image Quality of Hybrid Underwater Image Restoration (IR) Using the Dark Channel Prior (DCP), Color Attribution Prior, and Contrast Stretching

2020
Underwater imaging is a compulsory subject in marine research. Due to the presence of dust particles in the medium of water, the UW images are powerless against the effect of low contrast and color cast. UW picture restoration is critical for computer applications and consumer electronics. In any case, restoring the UW picture from a solitary picture is an odd-sick issue because of the complex UW condition. To improve the visual quality of UW picture, we propose a UW picture restoration technique. The dark channel prior strategy utilized to remove the haze present in the UW picture. It depends on a key perception most nearby patches in haze-free UW pictures contain a few pixels which have low intensities in no less than one color channel. However, color attenuation prior is incredible for fog removal from a single input hazy picture. In this paper, different approaches are utilized for improving the color and contrast of UW pictures and present a suitable color balance strategy for UW picture enhancement.
