Features of Frequency Characteristics of the HF Paths

2021
This chapter deals with different characteristics of high-voltage power lines as media for HF signal transmission including mechanical construction, number of circuits, effects of reflected waves, transpositions, tap lines, and transit substations. It shows that weather conditions have dramatically impact on the parameters of HF path attenuation and noise especially when ice coating occurs. It contents information about features of PLC channels’ construction over underground power cables and mixed cable-overhead power lines. The purpose of this chapter is to consider features of frequency dependences the most interesting for the reader HF path parameters and disturbances present in these paths.
