Network Management Tool Implemented on IPv6 Environment: A Tool for Computer Networks Laboratory of University of San Carlos Computer Engineering

2010
I See U (ISU) is a network management tool which runs on an IPv6 platform and on a .Net Framework. It has tool for both server and client computers namely ISUS and ISUC respectively. ISU’s main purpose is to detect and apply necessary actions on the opened Forbidden Applications. It has three (3) major functions which take place on the client side: prompts, closes and blacklists forbidden applications. I See U worked perfectly when there were no network problems. The biggest problem encountered upon deployment would be network problem due to faulty networking devices. The tool promotes discipline among the students based on the survey done to the users. The research was successful in implementing a NMT that allowed only selected applications to run during a class. Using asynchronous sockets implementation lessens thread usage and could be more efficient.
