Data Collection Interface for Isolated Perfused Rat Liver: Recording Oxygen Consumption, Perfusion Pressure, and pH

A computer-aided data collection system was developed for use with an existing isolated rat liver perfusion apparatus. The system monitors and records perfusion time, oxygen consumption, perfusion pressure, and pH. Maintenance of perfusate pH is also accomplished using an electronically controlled solenoid valve for delivery of 95%/5% O2/CO2 gas to the perfusion gas exchange system. Descriptions of software and hardware required to develop this system are provided.
