A New Algorithm of Frequency Offset Estimation Based on Dispersive Blocks of Pilot Symbols

For the demodulation requirement of short burst signals,a new algorithm of frequency offset estimation based on dispersive blocks of pilot symbols(DBPS) is proposed.Different from the algorithms of frequency offset estimation based on consecutive pilot symbols(CPS),the location information of pilot symbols is fully utilized in this algorithm in addition to their own known information.Under the circumstances of equal frame efficiency,a better estimation performance can be achieved by this algorithm compared with those frequency offset estimation algorithms based on CPS.Both theory and simulation results show that the estimation performance of this algorithm can reach the Cramer-Rao bound of the corresponding frame structure within its unbiased estimation range.
