DEFINITION OF SAFETY/RELIABILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR COMPONENTS OF AN ELECTRONIC VEHICLE SYSTEM SUCH AS STEER BY WIRE

In this paper, the authors use a steer-by-wire system as an example for explaining a fault tree-based analysis which can be used for performing a safety analysis of an electronic vehicle system. Results from the analysis can be applied to defining safety and reliability specifications for individual system components.
