INFULENCE OF FAMILY OWNERSHIP ON PERFORMANCE OF FIRM: A COMPARATIVE FAMILY AND NON FAMILY BUSINESS ANALYSIS OF FOOD SECTOR LISTED AT KARACHI STOCK EXCHANGE PAKISTAN

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship of family ownership on performance of firm's and comparatively analyzed to family and non-family business of food sector listed at KSE in Pakistan. In order to obtain the objective of concentration of family ownership were taken as independent variables while performance of firm's as dependent variable. A sample of 34 companies listed at Karachi Stock Exchange from 2010 to 2012 selected from food industry of Pakistan. Multiple regression modal was used to regress the explanatory variables. The result revealed that there was positive significant relationship between family ownership and performance of firm. The results were indicated that the family firms are better performed as compare to non-family firms. The result may also be help full for Investors and financial & administration advisors.
